Immortelle

immortelle-flowers
IMMORTELLE or Ageless flower as it is often known……. This wonderful bright yellow wild fragrant flower grows profusely amongst the scrub covered mountainous areas on the Mediterranean Island of Corsica. Immortelle got its name because it never fades in colour even after picking or drying. Once the beauty secret of ancient Kings and Queens, it is now used today in skincare products for its anti-ageing properties.

Its botanical name is Helichrysum from the Greek Helios meaning sun and gold and it derives from the daisy family. The leaves have a very pungent strong aromatic smell and it is a small, dry, straw like flower. The flowers are made from many florets which make it look like a flower full of tubed shape holes.

Used in our masks this ingredient helps boost cell activity leaving the skin feeling velvety, fresh and silky smooth.
